Last Saturday, August 16, the Trochu Arboretum hosted a truly memorable Open Farm Days & Artisan Market from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Alberta Open Farm Days. The sunny weather set the perfect stage for a day that celebrated community, nature, and sustainable agriculture.

Connecting Through Nature & Education
Stewardship and sustainability were at the heart of the event. The Arboretum’s water-wise design—smart irrigation, mulching, soil testing, and retention practices—served as a living classroom. Guests walked through the gardens, witnessed thoughtful water management, and witnessed the power of community-driven conservation.
A Day Rooted in Community & Stewardship
The event wove together agriculture, artistry, and environmental awareness into a seamless tapestry. From the laughter-filled market paths to expert talks under the Alberta sky, the Arboretum transformed into a vibrant, educational celebration.
By highlighting local businesses, sustainable practices, and nature’s beauty, Trochu Arboretum welcomed both lifelong supporters and curious newcomers into its fold—and the turnout reflected that inclusive spirit beautifully.
Looking Ahead
This successful gathering showcased the Arboretum not just as a garden, but as a dynamic venue for learning, community, and collective action. Inspired agriculturists, families, educators, and nature lovers alike left with a renewed appreciation for what happens when water, knowledge, and community combine.
