Hands-on Nature Fun This August at the Trochu Arboretum
Looking for a fun, educational way to get your kids outside and learning this summer? Join us at the Trochu Arboretum for Kids in the Arb—a FREE weeklong afternoon program designed to spark curiosity and connection with nature!
Program Dates & Times:
- Week 1: August 5 – 8, 2025
- Week 2: August 11–15, 2025
- Time: 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM each day
Dress appropriately for outdoors. If it’s raining, activities will be inside.
What to Expect:
Kids aged 4–12 are invited to spend their afternoons exploring the Arboretum through hands-on activities, guided discovery, and creative expression. Each day offers a new adventure!
Parents must remain in the arboretum while their kids attend the event.
- Nature Walks: Learn to identify local plants, trees, and insects
- Wildlife Spotting: Discover who calls the Arb home—from birds to bugs
- Crafts & Games: Create nature-inspired art and play outdoor games
- Eco-Learning: Explore how plants grow, how ecosystems work, and how we can protect them
This program encourages kids to look closely, ask questions, and develop a lasting appreciation for the natural world around them.
